My First Year in Bible School

WHY RHEMA BIBLE SCHOOL?

My parents became Christians when I was 2 years old and raised my sisters and I in a Spirit-filled local church.

I made a personal decision to become a Christian when I was 10 years old, and now at 27, have officially dedicated the next 3 years of my life to learning and living under the Word of God through RHEMA Bible Training College, South Pacific (based in Samoa).

Growing up in church, it's easy to get big-headed about the gospel. I thought I knew enough about my God. I almost didn't make it - I had one foot in the "idea" of attending and the other in my plans for 2021, which as anyone in this pandemic can testify is uncertain at the best of times.

Countless people around the world have messaged me on this platform to say what a "wise young woman" I am, how much of a blessing I am to speak "so confidently" of God and live a life in His will. Seeeeee, they get it. My pride certainly did.

"Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil." - Proverbs 3.7 (NLT version.)

"Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline." - Proverbs 1.7 (NLT version.)

If I am being honest, the major reason I didn't want to attend Rhema was this :

I lacked discipline in my life and did not want "authority figures" telling me what to do.

I slept in every morning, did what I wanted when I wanted, wore whatever I wanted, worked when I wanted, and lived my entire life according to me.

I had a good life pre-Rhema. I was happy, fulfilled (at least, I thought that's what I was), creative, and inspired to continue my life as an entrepreneur who loves Jesus!

RHEMA Lexi, however, is the best I've ever been.

There's a scripture I've quoted since I was little, "I go from glory to glory."

I knew from a very young age that a life with the Lord increases in joy, favour, and goodness with each passing day. I've held onto it for as long as I can remember because you know what? It's true!

"So all of us, with faces unveiled, see as in a mirror the glory of the Lord; and we are being changed into his very image, from one degree of glory to the next, by ADONAI the Spirit."

2 Corinthians 3.18 (CJB Version).

Earlier in verse 17 it says, "Now ADONAI in this text means the Spirit. And where the Spirit of ADONAI is, there is freedom."

That's how I feel. FREE.

Free to sing and dance to my wonderful God, to attend an excellent Bible School a few mins from my house, to experience His goodness first-hand in my life, and to wake up every single day excited to partner with Him!

Most of all, I feel FREE to walk in confidence in an era that is foaming with uncertainty. Nothing, but God Himself, is sure and secure.

5 KEY LESSONS I'VE LEARNED IN MY VERY FIRST YEAR IN RHEMA BIBLE TRAINING COLLEGE, SOUTH PACIFIC :

  1. Have faith at all times. Hebrews 11.6.

  2. Align your thinking to the standard of the Word of God. Not the other way around. Proverbs 30.5 ; 2 Timothy 3.16.

  3. Always have Scriptural support when speaking of or referring to God.

  4. Faith-filled people are full of joy, gratitude, and forgiveness. Romans 4.20 ; John 14.1 ; Psalms 35.27 ; 2 Corinthians 2.14; Luke 17.3-4, Mark 11.22-25.

  5. It is up to me how much I grow in the knowledge of God.

I believe some of you out there might be in a similar position.

You love the Lord, you know Him well, and you also know there is more room to grow.

RHEMA is the place for you. It's the place for everyone.

I hope this simple year review shines more light into the possibilities of you becoming a student yourself. The next enrollment will be FEB, 2022.

Who knows what will happen in a year from now?

Believing for God's best for you, always.

Sincerely,

Alexia Rae.
